Job Description:

Appbay Technologies is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Associate Databricks Developer to join our growing data engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in data processing, databases, and programming, along with a keen interest in cloud-based data platforms and big data technologies. You will work closely with senior developers, data engineers, and business teams to build scalable data pipelines, process large datasets, and support data-driven business solutions using Databricks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development, testing, and deployment of data pipelines using Databricks.

• Work with structured and unstructured data to support data engineering and analytics initiatives.

• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes for data ingestion, transformation, and loading.

• Collaborate with team members to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using Python, SQL, and Spark.

• Support data integration activities involving databases, APIs, and third-party systems.

• Monitor and troubleshoot data processing jobs to ensure reliability and performance.

• Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation activities.

• Learn and implement best practices for data engineering, cloud technologies, and data governance.

• Stay updated with emerging trends and advancements in Databricks and modern data platforms.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.

• 0–2 years of experience in software development, data engineering, or data analytics.

• Basic knowledge of Python programming.

• Understanding of SQL and relational database concepts.

• Familiarity with data structures, algorithms, and data processing concepts.

• Basic understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data warehousing concepts.

• Knowledge of Apache Spark concepts is an advantage.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.

• Good communication and teamwork abilities.

• Willingness to learn cloud and big data technologies.

Preferred Skills:

• Exposure to Databricks, Apache Spark, or cloud data platforms.

• Familiarity with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.

• Understanding of data lakes, data warehouses, and modern data architectures.

• Knowledge of Git or other version control systems.

• Experience working with APIs and data integration concepts.

• Databricks Fundamentals or cloud certifications will be an added advantage.
